🪞 Reflection of Emotions 🪞
Emotions are deceptive, fluid like water, shifting like shadows, yet powerful enough to shape the way we see the world. We stand before the mirror, expecting to see ourselves clearly, but emotions distort the reflection, turning certainty into ambiguity. We do not always see who we are ,we see what we feel. 🌊
Writing is the only mirror that does not lie. It captures what the glass cannot, translating raw emotions into words, giving form to what the heart struggles to define. Every sigh becomes a sentence, every unspoken sorrow finds a home between the lines. It is through writing that we come face to face with emotions we often suppress, only to realize they have been waiting for us all along.
I once wrote about a character who carried an invisible weight, an undefined sadness, a restlessness she couldn’t name. I gave her dialogue, conflicts, choices… but in truth, I was giving myself an outlet. Only later did I understand that her story was my own. The burden she carried was one I had not yet dared to acknowledge. Writing her was not an act of creativity; it was an act of self-confrontation.
🖋️ Advice: If you ever feel lost, write. If you ever feel something too deeply to explain, let your words speak for you. Your stories will reveal more than your thoughts, they will reveal your truth.
But here’s the real question: Do we recognize the emotions we reflect, or do we only see what we are ready to face? Perhaps the characters we write, the moments we create, are not fiction at all, but echoes of a reality we are still learning to understand.
💭 Have you ever written something and later realized it was a reflection of emotions you hadn’t yet acknowledged?
